A. G. Dickens

Professor Arthur Geoffrey Dickens (1910–2001) taught at Keble College, Oxford, the University of Hull, and King’s College London, before becoming Director of the Institute of Historical Research 1967-1977. His particular interest was in English religion and society. His wartime experiences led to a second interest in German history and the German Counter-Reformation.
