The Eagle Bookshop
. . . . is BHRS’s official stockist for its out of print volumes.
The Eagle Bookshop (opens in new window) was established by Peter Budek in 1991 in the Castle Road area of Bedford, the county town of Bedfordshire, situated about 50 miles north of London. Read more about its development (opens in new window) in his own inimitable style! The shop has now moved to St. Peters Street.
In 2014 Peter Budek and the Society agreed that The Eagle Bookshop would take all the Society’s back stock and become the official stockist for its out of print volumes. The Eagle Bookshop supports the Society with a small contribution for each second hand or out of print BHRS volume that it sells.
Rare and secondhand books bought and sold
The shop, holds a wide-ranging selection of rare, collectable and scholarly books. In additional to its first-rate choice of books on Bedfordshire history (opens in new window), it is also particularly strong in mathematics, science, art and architecture.
Peter Budek and The Eagle Bookshop also support local artists through The Eagle Gallery (opens in new window).
