Lewis C. Loyd

Lewis C. Loyd (1875-1947) was a barrister practising on the Midland circuit before joining HM Treasury Solicitor's department in 1920, where he worked until retirement in 1937. He was a genealogist and his most important books were published posthumously: The Origins of some Anglo-Norman families (Harleian Society, 1951) and Sir Christopher Hatton’s Book of Seals (Northamptonshire Record Society, 1950), which was completed after his death by Doris M. Stenton and others.
