John Fines FRHistS (1938-1999) was a medieval and ecclesiastical historian and educationalist. He pioneered innovative methods of teaching history, about which he wrote and lectured, and was part of the Nuffield Foundation’s Primary History project. He was President of the Historical Association, 1994-1996.
